Conversational Companions in the Living Place Lab

The main aim of this student’s project was the design and implementation of conversational companions for a home automation system, such as the Living Place Lab. To this end, the students created dialogs for prototypes (a plant, mirror, and the smart home itself) embedded in the smart home infrastructure. Furthermore, the three prototypes utilized the same technical components for natural language processing. The following videos demonstrate conversations with the functional prototypes.

The prototypes were realized by Jasmin Curtz, Jonas Krukenberg, Mario Emanuel Fernández, Tobias Hardjowirogo, Erik Hildebrandt, Jan Kalkmann, Minh Lê, Gianluca Löwe, and Kathleen Neitzel. Supervision by Prof. Dr. Thomas Lehmann and Jessica Broscheit.
